Mother and Daughter /January 2010

This is a large image, 40x30", and the scale is what interested me, as well as the beautiful image. At this scale, the figures seem to be in the room with the viewer, the scene something one can step right into.

With this work, as is often the case, my beach work is influenced by the work of the Spanish master Sorrolla, and the loose brushwork in the background waves shows this especially. It comes in a gold leaf frame (not shown) and retails with it included for $9,800.
