Charles River Rower
Each autumn, one of the year's great rowing events, the Head of the Charles Regatta, comes to Cambridge, MA. The image here is of a solitary rower, just about to pass under a bridge near Harvard University. It is painted in acrylic, a medium I occasionally use when looking for a more gestural quality. Some work out, some don't! When they do, they have an impressionistic unique quality, which I feel this one captures. As much faster works, they also retail for significantly less than an oil the same size. 24x18", framed in black wood frame with brown undertones, $2800
